# Account

The `getMe` method returns the account that owns the API key. It is a good first call when you set up an integration: a `200` response means the key is valid and the owner has the Pro plan, and the `id` and email show whose account it is.

## getMe

Returns the key owner's details.

```endpoint
GET POST https://watbot.org/api/v1/getMe
```

No parameters — only the API key is needed.

```bash title="Request"
curl -X POST "https://watbot.org/api/v1/getMe" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" \
  -H "Accept: application/json"
```

```json title="Response 200"
{
  "data": {
    "id": 1795377,
    "name": "Anna Smith",
    "phone": "15550100123",
    "email": "anna@example.com",
    "created_at": "2026-09-18T08:20:36+00:00"
  }
}
```

```json title="Response 401"
{
  "error": "unauthorized"
}
```

| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| `id` | Account ID |
| `name` | Name in the profile |
| `phone` | The account's phone as digits, without `+`; `null` if not set |
| `email` | The account's email |
| `created_at` | When the account was registered, in UTC |

Errors are the same as for all methods: `401` — the key is wrong or was regenerated, `402` — the key's owner has no Pro plan. See [Errors](https://support.watbot.org/api#errors).
