# Mailings

A mailing is a scenario the bot sends to many contacts at once: to all of them or to those picked by filters, at a set time or by days of the week. A person gets the first block of the scenario and then goes through it as usual — presses buttons, replies, moves to other branches.

Mailings are built in the "Mailings" section of the bot's menu.

## Kinds of mailings

| Kind | When it goes out | Where it is created |
|---|---|---|
| One-time | Once, on the given date and time | The "Mailings" section |
| By days of the week | On the ticked days of the week at the same time, until it is stopped or the end date comes | The "Mailings" section |
| From previous block | Right away, to those who are now on the chosen blocks of the scenario | [Settings panel of the block](https://support.watbot.org/chatbots/mailings/send-from-previous) |

## What a mailing needs

- **A Pro subscription.** You can build and save a mailing without a subscription, but launching it requires Pro. See the [What is available without Pro](https://support.watbot.org/billing/without-pro) page for details.
- **A connected channel.** A mailing goes to Telegram, VK, Viber and the website chat. There are no mailings in MAX — these are the rules of that platform. How the channels differ is described in the [Connecting channels](https://support.watbot.org/chatbots/channels) section.
- **Contacts.** A mailing reaches only those who have already written to the bot: the bot cannot be the first to write to a person who is not among its contacts.

## How it works

1. [Create a mailing](https://support.watbot.org/chatbots/mailings/create): the name, channels and filters, the scenario, the sending time.
2. Start it. The platform collects the recipients and sends the scenario at the set time.
3. Follow the progress on the mailing's page: how many messages are sent and delivered, and where errors occurred. This is covered on the [Launch and results](https://support.watbot.org/chatbots/mailings/results) page.

Who ends up among the recipients and how a person unsubscribes from mailings is on the [Recipients and filters](https://support.watbot.org/chatbots/mailings/audience) page.

## The list of mailings

Above the list there is a search by name and groups by state: "Drafts", "Scheduled", "Sending", "Completed", "Stopped". Next to a group is the number of mailings in it; empty groups are hidden.

A mailing's row shows its kind, the sending time and time zone, the scenario, the number of recipients and the state. A click on the row opens the mailing's page, a click on the number of recipients opens their list.

In the "⋯" menu on the right:

- "Edit" — open the settings. Available while the mailing is not started or is stopped.
- "Copy" — create a draft with the same settings and scenario.
- "Delete" — remove the mailing from the list. Stop a started mailing first.

## Limits

- One bot can have no more than 50 mailings created per day.
- No more than 24 mailings of one bot can be sending at the same time.
- Messages go out gradually: the platform observes the messengers' limits on sending frequency, so a large mailing takes time.
