# User tags

Adds and removes the app user's tags: "customer", "vip", "survey done". These are the app's own labels — everyone who opened it has them, even a browser guest without a chatbot.

## Settings

- **"Add tags"** — type a tag and press Enter.
- **"Remove tags"**.

Tags are removed first, then added. Variable placeholders work in a tag: `{{ name }}`.

## Exits

- **"Done"** — the tags are changed.

## Specifics

- Up to 20 tags in each list at a time, a tag is up to 255 characters.
- One person can have up to 500 tags: new ones beyond that are not added.
- Tags are visible in the user card in the "Users" section and in the `appTags` variable; "User tag" conditions work with them.
- The chatbot contact's tags — the ones mailings work with — are changed by another block: ["Contact tags"](https://support.watbot.org/mini-apps/blocks/bot/bot-tags). How the two kinds of tags differ is on the [App data](https://support.watbot.org/mini-apps/data#tags) page.
