# Lists

Three elements work with the project's lists — the same ones the chatbots use: they show records, open one record and create or change records right from the screen. How the app stores data in lists, selects records and assigns them to a person is on the [App data](https://support.watbot.org/mini-apps/data#lists) page.

How to add elements and what they have in common is on the [Screen elements](https://support.watbot.org/mini-apps/elements) page.

| Element | What it does | Exit |
|---|---|---|
| ["List records"](https://support.watbot.org/mini-apps/elements/records/records) | Shows list records as rows, cards or tiles | With "Tapping a record is an event" ticked |
| ["Record card"](https://support.watbot.org/mini-apps/elements/records/record) | Shows one record | With "Follow the link when there is no record" ticked |
| ["Record form"](https://support.watbot.org/mini-apps/elements/records/form) | Fields that become a list record right away | Always — after a successful submission |

The usual combination: "List records" on one screen, a tap on a record puts its id into `recordId`, and the next screen shows it with a "Record card".

## Date format

For date columns in "What to show in a record", you can choose "Custom format" — a pattern like the PHP `date()` function: `d` — day, `m` — month in digits, `F` — month in words, `Y` — year, `H:i` — time. The default is "As in the app language".

## Form from a list

The "Form from a list" button under the area's elements builds a form in one go: choose a list and columns — a suitable input field appears for each, and with "Add a save button" ticked, a "Save" button too. All that is left is to link the button to the "Add a record" or "Edit a record" block.

This is not the "Record form" element but ordinary [input fields](https://support.watbot.org/mini-apps/elements/fields) and a button: the values go into variables, and the record is created by the block.
