Contacts

A contact is a person the bot talks to. Every contact has a card: the name, channel, phone and email, tags, variables, internal accounts and the people they invited. Everything the scenario has remembered about the person is here.

How a contact appears

  • A person wrote to the bot in a connected channel: Telegram, VK, MAX, Viber. The contact is created with the first message. How to connect channels is in the Connecting channels section.
  • A visitor started a conversation in the website chat. Such a contact has "Web chat" in the "Messenger" column.
  • You uploaded contacts from an Excel file. This is how a base of Telegram subscribers is moved — see the Import and export page.

A contact is tied to a channel. If the same person wrote to the bot in Telegram and in VK, these are two contacts with different data.

The test chat on the bot's scheme does not get into the list of contacts and is not included in the number of contacts.

Where contacts are

Open the bot, choose "Lists" in the menu and click the "Contacts" row. The number of contacts is shown next to the name.

You can also get to a contact's card from other sections:

  • from the "Messages" section — by clicking the sender's name in the conversation;
  • from the scenario's scheme — from the "Contacts" list in the block settings panel. It shows who is at this block now;
  • from the list of recipients of a mailing.

The same "Lists" section holds the reference lists related to contacts: "Tag hints", "User variable hints" and "Global variables".

What you need

  • A Pro subscription. The list of contacts, the cards and the exports open only with Pro. See the What is available without Pro page for details.
  • Permissions. A team member can access the list of contacts with the "Editing scenarios" or "Download contacts" permission. A team member with the "Editing scenarios" permission can open a card, change a contact's data and delete the contact.

The subscription package depends on the number of contacts in all your bots — see The Pro plan page.

Pages in this section

  • List of contacts — search, filters, tags in the list and deleting contacts.
  • Import and export — how to upload contacts from Excel and download the contact base as a file.
  • Contact card — the contact's data, status, phone and email, waits, deletion.
  • Tags and variables — how to mark up contacts, the hint lists and the bot's global variables.
  • Accounts and referrals — the contact's internal balance, the journal of operations and the referral link.
