Scenario builder

The builder is the screen where you put your bot together. The scenario is drawn on it as a scheme: blocks connected by arrows. The bot guides a person along the arrows starting from the "Start" block.

The builder opens with the "Scenario" item in the bot's menu. It is also where you start when you open a bot from the list.

What is on the screen

  • The scheme — blocks, the connections between them and notes. You can move it and zoom in, like a map.
  • The top toolbar — going back to the project, block search, connecting messengers, the scheme's appearance, the "Test the bot" and "Add a block" buttons.
  • The bottom toolbar — conversions by block, the minimap and the list of the bot's scenarios.
  • The zoom panel on the right — zoom in and out, return to the start block, turn on box selection.
  • The "Block settings" panel — opens on the right when you click a block.

What you need

  • No subscription is needed. You can build scenarios and test the bot in the built-in chat without Pro. A subscription is needed once you connect a messenger and the bot starts replying to people. See the What is available without Pro page for details.
  • Access to the scenario. The "Scenario" item is visible to the bot's owner and to team members who are allowed to edit the scenario. Team members' access is set up in the bot settings.

Saving

The builder has no "Save" button: every change is written right away. While a block is being saved, three dots are shown at its bottom instead of the ID.

Warning

Actions on the scheme cannot be undone. A deleted block, connection or note cannot be brought back — before deleting several blocks, the builder asks for confirmation.

Pages in this section

  • Canvas and toolbars — how to move and zoom the scheme, what each button does, selecting and copying blocks, notes, appearance.
  • Scenarios — why a bot needs several scenarios, the main scenario, folders, copying and deleting.
  • How the bot chooses a reply — which block the conversation starts from, how the bot processes a person's message and when it stays silent.
  • Testing the bot — the built-in "Bot test" chat: starting from any block, variables and tags, differences from a real contact.

How to add, connect and set up blocks is in the Blocks section. If you are building your first bot, start with the quick start.
