Web chat

The web chat is a chat with the bot right on your website. It has two parts: the bot's "Web chat" channel and a widget that shows the chat to visitors.

Connecting

  1. In the bot's scheme, click "Connect messenger", choose "Web chat" and click "Save". There is nothing to enter.
  2. Open the "Widgets" section of the project. Create a widget or open an existing one.
  3. In the widget settings, enable the chat and choose this bot.
  4. Install the widget on your website if it is not installed yet.

The channel window lists the widgets where the chat with this bot is enabled. Until there are any, it shows the "Go to widgets" link.

The widget itself does not require a subscription — Pro is needed only for the chat with the bot.

How it works

  • Every visitor who opens the chat becomes a contact of the bot. Their conversation is visible in the "Messages" section, just like conversations from messengers.
  • Buttons work both under a message and under the input field.
  • A mini app opens on top of the chat, without taking the visitor away from the site.
  • AI replies can be typed out in front of the visitor as they are generated.
  • The "Test the bot" window on the scheme works the same way: the bot replies in it as it does in the web chat on a website.

Disconnecting

Open the channel in the list and click "Delete". Widgets stop showing this bot, and the contact history stays.
